Solid Hardwood

  • 3/4″ thick tongue-and-groove planks made entirely from a single species.
  • Available in prefinished or unfinished
  • Fully customizable in widths, lengths, grades, and patterns.
  • Best installed over wood subfloors using nails or cleats (with glue-assist for wide planks or patterns).
  • Not recommended over concrete or below-grade spaces due to seasonal movement.
  • Can be refinished up to 6 times with proper care—ideal for floors meant to last generations.

Engineered Hardwood

  • Constructed with multiple base layers (plywood or similar) for stability, topped with a wear layer of your chosen species.
  • Popular thicknesses: 3/4″, 5/8″, 1/2″, 3/8″.
  • Wear layer thickness determines refinishing potential:
    • 3/4″ & 5/8″ – Refinishable as many times as solid wood.
    • 1/2″ – Refinishable 1–2 times.
    • 3/8″ – Not designed for sanding.
  • More dimensionally stable than solid wood—ideal for concrete subfloors, radiant heat, and below-grade spaces.
  • Available prefinished (all thicknesses) and unfinished (typically 3/4″ or 5/8”)

Unfinished Hardwood

  • Delivered raw from the mill for on-site sanding and finishing.
  • Highest level of customization—control the grade, lengths, widths, and cut.
  • Can be stained any color or finished clear to highlight natural beauty.
  • Our go-to choice for wide plank installations, as it allows precise moisture acclimation and perfect integration with your space.

Prefinished Hardwood

  • Factory-applied finish—install and walk on the same day.
  • Available in solid or engineered formats.
  • Limited customization compared to unfinished wood, but offers convenience and consistent factory-applied coatings.
  • Often features micro-beveled edges.
  • Long-term refinishing costs are higher than for site-finished floors.

  • Red Oak
  • Walnut
  • Maple
  • Cherry
  • Brazilian Cherry
  • Mahogany

We source from trusted mills and specialize in wide plank white oak for its balance of beauty, strength, and versatility.

Grades

The grade affects the floor’s appearance and character:

  • Clear – Most uniform, minimal knots.
  • Select & Better – Mostly uniform, with light natural variations.
  • #1 Common – More color variation, occasional knots and mineral streaks.
  • #2 Common – Significant variation, larger knots, rustic character.
  • Character Grade – Tasteful mix of natural features, perfect for rustic or farmhouse looks.

    Lengths

Standard bundles often include planks from 1’–6 in mixed proportions.
We can specify custom ranges such as:

    • 1’–10
    • 2’–10
    • 4’–10
    • 2’–12

Longer lengths create a more sophisticated, seamless look—especially important in wide plank floors.

    Widths

From narrow 1.5″ strips to expansive 15″ planks and beyond.
Our most popular choice is 5″ wide plank, but we frequently install 7″, 8″, and even 12″ for clients seeking bold, modern statements.

    Cuts

    • Plainsawn – Cathedral grain, most common and cost-effective.
    • Rift Sawn – Straight, tight grain for a refined look.
    • Quarter Sawn – Visible flecks and striations, highly stable.
    • Rift & Quartered – Combination for beauty and stability—excellent over radiant heat.
    • Live Sawn – Ideal for wide planks; combines all grain types in one board for maximum character.

    Pattern & Design Enhancements

    Patterned Floors

    • Herringbone, chevron, parquet—from subtle elegance to statement-making designs.
    • Often used in foyers, dining rooms, or feature spaces.

    Borders, Inlays & Medallions

    • Custom borders with mitered, log cabin, or intricate knot corners.
    • Feature strips in contrasting species or metal accents.
